What is Yarl IT Hub?

Yarl IT Hub is a non-profit community organization dedicated to transforming Northern Sri Lanka into a thriving innovation hub. We provide technology education, entrepreneurship support, and community programs to empower individuals from school students to seasoned entrepreneurs.

Who can join Yarl IT Hub programs?

Our programs are open to everyone! We offer age-specific initiatives including UKI for school leavers, YGC Junior for school students, YGC Senior for emerging entrepreneurs, startup accelerator programs for entrepreneurs, and various community events for all ages. Whether you're a beginner or experienced in technology or entrepreneurship, there's a program for you.

Are Yarl IT Hub programs free?

Yes, most of our programs are completely free! As a non-profit organization, we're committed to making technology and entreprenuership education accessible to everyone in Northern Sri Lanka. Some specialized programs may have nominal fees to cover materials, but we offer scholarships to ensure no one is excluded due to financial constraints.

We have four offices across Northern Province: Jaffna (4th Floor, No 218 Stanley Road), Kilinochchi (No. 423, Thirunagar), Vavuniya (No. 57, 2nd Cross Street), and Mannar (No. 33, Field Street). You can visit any office or contact us at +94 76 767 3158.

How can I volunteer with Yarl IT Hub?

We welcome volunteers! You can join as a mentor, workshop facilitator, event organizer, or contribute your skills in various ways. Visit our volunteer page to learn more and sign up. No prior teaching experience is required—just a passion for empowering the community.

What is the UKI program?

Uki is a technology school by Yarl IT Hub, offers intensive, outcome-based training programs for school leavers.

How can my organization partner with Yarl IT Hub?

We collaborate with organizations that share our vision of empowering Northern Sri Lanka through technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. What is the Yarl Geek Challenge (YGC)?

YGC is our annual innovation competition. Its held at two levels, YGC Senior is Open to anyone who are at Idea stage of their entrepreneurial Journey. YGC Junior is for school students across multiple categories including coding, robotics, application of science. It's designed to foster creativity, technical skills, and entrepreneurial thinking among youth, with opportunities for mentorship and prizes.

How is Yarl IT Hub funded?

As a 100% non-profit organization, we're funded through grants, corporate sponsorships, individual donations, and partnerships with organizations that believe in our mission. All funds go directly toward programs, infrastructure, and community impact—we have no commercial interests or profit motives.
